SPONSORSHIP FOR EDUCATION

Many children in Tanzania miss time in school because they are needed at home.  The children are expected to pass an examination at the end of each year before they can move on to the next year.  Also illness plays a large part in absence from school. This is not unusual given the difficult circumstances in which they live.
Sponsoring is an extremely wonderful gift you can give any young person.  Its not just about the practical aspects but the self-esteem, encouragement and the fact that they know someone cares enough for them.  Through sponsoring a child you will be investing in their future and providing them with the skills they will require in life.  We have orphans that need support but also some parents cannot afford the extras they have to buy for their children.  Some children have had their father die and therefore income has been lost to pay for school.  Government schools are free but are extremely poorly funded resulting in parents having to pay for various items that they cannot afford. They have very little for resources, maintenance or anything else.  They need our help.

We can facilitate connecting with a child that requires support and have many on our list. Please contact us.  You can send whatever you can afford and you will receive updates on the student. Currently we have facilitated the sponsoring of four students; three students due to a parent's death and financial problems in keeping them in their school and one student placed in an all girls' school as two older sisters became pregnant at mixed school.  She is very academic and parents were concerned she would not achieve her potential or have her schooling curtailed in the same way.

All students provide reports from school to their sponsors and send messages.

The people shown at the top of this page are either part sponsored or needing help.

Donald has now completed his studies training to be a doctor.  It has been hard but the sponsors have been supportive in keeping him in university to complete his degree.  He has graduated and has now written us programmes for Health, HIV/AIDS, FGM, Early marriage and general health.  We will be able to deliver these to Masai areas across the country.

Goodluck has retrained in Procurement and Finance. Goodluck had been struggling as a safari driver and guide as the tourism trade has been very difficult over the last few years.  He also lives away from any family.  He has been very helpful to Louise on our projects in Tanzania, volunteering to help every time.  He is now one of our trustees for our NGO in Tanzania.

Anthony has just been sponsored for his last year of his degree in Civil Engineering.  He had struggled to keep himself at university by working but when work dried up he was left facing losing the previous three years of study.  Luckily we had two donors who are supporting him through this last year.  Unfortunately Anthony passed away before graduating due to Coronavirus.

Nancy and Clinton are funded, their father died and left the family with no-one able to provide financial support.

Filomena is part funded and requires further help.  Her two older sisters became pregnant whilst at school and Filomena is very bright.  The parents asked for help to send her to a girls' school to enable her to study and not go the same way as her sisters.  We urgently require another part-sponsor for Filomena as one of her sponsors is no longer able to assist.  If you can offer between £20-30 per month it will keep her in school.  She is doing really well at her studies.

Peter is a young man from Ngaramtoni who is desperate to go to medical school but his parents cannot afford the fees.  He is a very focused young man and this is his dream.  If you are able to assist Peter with his calling then please get in touch with us.

We have a number of students, both children and adults, that really need your help in assisting them to have a good education.  It is through education that lasting change can be made for the people in Tanzania.  Please get in touch if you can help at all.  You do not need to be in a position to totally fund a child or adult, any small, regular donation would help immensely.  Thank you.
